APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.
No. 4.
RESOLVED, That the state release its interest to
the composition
or valuation of the land escheated by Thomas Berry, of Kent
county, and the register of the land-office of the western shore is
hereby directed to issue patent on the land included in said escheat
warrant, with an estate to Thomas Berry for life, remainder to
William Reed, his heirs and assigns; saving all rights heretofore
acquired by any person to or in said lands, or in any part thereof. |

of respect to the
memory of Washington. |
No. 5.
The general assembly of Maryland, feeling the most
undissembled
sorrow for the irreparable loss of the illustrious Washington,
and anxious to pay every tribute of respect to the memory of the
depared friend to his country, RESOLVE UNANIMOUSLY, That there
be immediately furnished a scarf and hatband to the governor, the
president of the senate, and each of the attending members of the
senate, the speaker, and each of the attending members of the
house of delegates, the members of the council, each of the officers
and clerks attached to the senate and house of delegates, the chancellor,
and such of the judges of the general court, and all other
officers of the state and general government, as are now in the city
of Annapolis, to be worn during the session as the external mark
of their unfeigned grief. |
Salary of Adjutant
General. |
No. 6.
RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore
be and he is
hereby authorised and required to pay to the adjutant-general of
this state for the time being the sum of six hundred dollars, and no
more, in quarterly payments, as his salary for the year one thousand
eight hundred, provided the adjutant-general reside or keep
an office at the seat of government. |

RESOLVED, That the state release its interest to
the composition
or valuation of the land escheated by Arthur Thompson, and Anne
Thompson his wife, of Saint-Mary's county. |

laws to be prefaced
with address
of General Washington. |
No. 8.
RESOLVED, That William Kilty preface the second
volume of
his compilation of the laws of Maryland, by inserting the address
of president George Washington to the people of the United States,
bearing date the seventeenth day of September, seventeen hundred
and ninety-six. |

No. 9.
RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore
pay to
Darby McNemara, a poor and disabled soldier of the first Maryland
regiment, the sum of twenty-five pounds six shillings and
eleven-pence, with interest from the first of August, one thousand
seven hundred and eighty, in consideration of a depreciation certificate
for that amount heretofore issued to him and since lost. |
Payment due for
services on board
the barges suspended,
&c. |
No. 10.
RESOLVED, That the payment of the five months pay
due the
officers and soldiers, the sum due for services on board the barges,
the redemption of the emissions of June, one thousand seven hundred
and eighty, and the payment of certificates issued by this
state, amounting in the whole to nine thousand two hundred and
seventy-six pounds nine shillings and eleven-pence, be and the same
are hereby suspended until the first day of January, one thousand |
