The order of the day for taking into consideration
the salaries
to be allowed to the chancellor, judges, and other civil officers,
being read and considered, RESOLVED, That there be allowed to
the chancellor of this state the yearly salary of seven hundred and
fifty pounds current money; that there be allowed to the judge of
the court of admiralty the yearly salary of three hundred pounds
common money. |

No. 3.
RESOLVED, That the governor and the council be authorised
and
empowered to cause subscriptions to be opened in each county of
this state, under the inspection of one or more respectable inhabitants
of said counties, for the purpose of borrowing money on
loan office certificates, for the use of the honourable continental
congress. That the said subscription papers shall specify the
names of the lender, and the sums lent, and that a copy of such
subscription papers shall from time to time be sent to the commissioner
of the continental loan office in this state, together with the
money collected on loan, to be by him transmitted to congress; and
on delivery of the money, certificates shall be given out by such
commissioner to each person subscribing, bearing date at the time
the money was received from such person respectively; Provided
that no certificate shall issue for less than two hundred dollars. |

one hundred dollars; and the said certificates shall be discountable
at the option of the holder, out of the next assessment to be made
for the benefit of the public. |

the treasurer
of the eastern or western shore who gave the certificate, or shall
be discountable at the option of the holder, out of the assessments

On reading and considering that part of the memorial
of the
commissioners of the loan office relating to their salary, RESOLVED,
That the said commissioners be allowed each the yearly salary of
three hundred pounds common money, to commence at the expiration
of one year from the time of their appointment. |
