INDEX TO THE LAWS.
—The appointment of commissioners required by this
act shall not be made until the legislature of Virginia
shall pass a law with provisions similar to those contained
in this act,
Every person qualified to vote shall
vote in the election
district in which he resides at the time of the election,
and at no other place,
Penalty on persons offering to vote
twice, or voting
more than once either in their own, or any other person's
name, or in any other county or district,
Penalty on candidates or other persons
giving or
promising any reward, &c. to secure any person's
vote,
No person residing in Annapolis to
have a vote for
delegates of Anne-Arundel county,
Every free white male citizen of this
state above
twenty one years of age, and no other, having resided
12 months within the state, and 6 months in the
county, or in the city of Annapolis, or Baltimore,
next preceding the election, shall have a right of suffrage,
and shall vote by ballot for electors of the president
and vice-president of the United States, for
representatives to congress, for delegates to the general
assembly, electors of the senate and sheriffs,
Directions for their being annually printed by the
printer to the state,
—The governor and council required to cause them
to be forwarded to the different counties,
—Former acts repealed,

Land warrants, when to be issued for
the amount of
caution money paid,
Directions concerning warrants to
take up certain
land in Allegany county, where the certificate had
