            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

—All loans before made declared valid, as it made
with the consent of the legislature,
    The species of coins struck at the mint of the United
States, and the rates of foreign coins, as severally
regulated and established by congress, to be adjudged
the current money of this state,
    Property belonging to the United States not to be
valued for the public assessment,
    The officials of any justice of the peace, while
holding an office under the government of the United
States, declared effectual notwithstanding,
    Penalty on justices of the peace after qualifying accepting
any office under the United States, and still
acting as justices,
    An agent to be appointed to settle the claims of the
state with the government of the United States,

    Insurance Company incorporated at Baltimore,

    Constituted by annexing to the college of medicine
in Baltimore the other three colleges or faculties,
—A lottery authorised for raising money, to be paid
to the members of the faculty of physic therein, and to
be applied to the payment for their lot, to a botanic
garden, a library, and other necessary apparatus,

—A lottery authorised in Baltimore for the benefit
of the University of Maryland, in the purchase of
chemical and other apparatus, &c.

    A bridge directed to be built over the Western
Branch,
    A lottery authorised for clearing the navigation on
the branch of Patuxent on which the town stands,
    The Philomanthanean Society incorporated,
    The act of 1798, ch. 63, to prevent swine and geese
from going at large, repealed as far as it related to Upper
Marlborough,
    The Planters Bank of Prince-George's county established
in Upper Marlborough, &c.

    Money to be erected for building a bridge over the
Western Branch near Upper Marlborough,
—For purchasing ground, and erecting a wharf,
    Swine and geese prevented from going at large,

    Of Baltimore county—money to be levied for his
support,

    Persons for whose use a suit is entered on the record
when answerable for costs,

    Forged deeds, notes, &c. punishment for.  See
Crimes.  Forgery.

                                                   V.

    Occasioned by the death, &c. of a delegate, directions
for issuing a warrant of election, &c.

    Lots to the westward of Fort Cumberland liable to
be taken up,
    The 5th section of the act of 1704, ch. 38, empowering
vestries, &c. to take up land for the use of churches,
repealed,
    Part of the act of 1807, ch. 98, concerning a certificate
therein mentioned, repealed, &c.
