            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    Provisions concerning Miles River Ferry,
    A road to be laid out from near J. Harrisons to the
public road from Easton to Haddaway's,
    Money to be levied for enlarging and repairing the
poor house,
    A Charitable Society incorporated in Easton,
    The poor house to be enlarged and repaired,
    The title of the Third Haven Monthly Meeting of
Friends, commonly called Quakers, to certain lots,
confirmed, and certain members incorporated,
    Real and personal property to be revalued and reassessed,
&c.

    Commissioners of the tax appointed,
    The public ground in Easton, with the court house,
&c. vested in the levy court for the accommodation of
the court of appeals, the county court, and other county
purposes,
    So much of the acts of 1789, ch. 36, and 1804, ch.
73, as are inconsistent with this act, repealed,
    Money to be levied for the use of the poor,
    The act of 1797, ch. 9, repealed,
    The county courts to be held on the third Monday
in May and the second Monday in November,
    Provision made for the education of poor children,
    Commissioners of the school fund appointed,

    The title to certain lots confirmed to the trustees of
that part of the Methodist Episcopal Church called
Sardis Chapel,
    Regulations concerning the streets in St. Michael's,
and the roads as therein mentioned,
    The powers of the commissioners of Easton enlarged
as to levying taxes, &c.
    Retailers, &c. not to sell liquor to any free negro or
mulatto, or slave, between sun set and sun rise, or on
the Sabbath day, or to suffer them to be about their
houses, without a written order,
    The provisions of the act of 1817, ch. 227, declared
to be in force in Talbot county,

    Library Company, incorporated,
    A lottery authorised for deepening and widening a
well,
    Swine and geese prevented from going at large,
    A lottery authorised for procuring a dwelling for the
resident preacher of the German Presbyterian Congregation
at Taney town, &c.
—For completing the German Lutheran Church,
—For building a school house,
—For building the Impartial Academy and Free
Church,

    Of Worcester county—money to be levied for their
support,

    Every person, his aiders, &c. convicted of tarring
and feathering, to be confined in the penitentiary not
more than 10 years,
