thereto as the governor and council might deem
sufficient for rebuilding, &c. relinquished to the trustees
for the purposes expressed in this law,
    The title to sundry lots of ground confirmed to the
trustees of the Methodist Church called Sardis's Chapel,
in Talbot county,

    A town to be called Middletown to be laid out in Prince-George's

    Allowed in certain cases to public notaries,
    Justices of the peace not authorised to receive any
fees, &c. for mileage or journey fee, as such,
    Allowance for, to jurors in Frederick and Allegany
counties,
—To jurors in Washington county,
—To jurors in Harford county,

    Of Somerset county, a lunatic—money to be levied
for his support,

    Punishment for burning, or any magazine thereof.

    Pilots and their apprentices declared to be exempted
from militia duty during their acting or apprenticeship,

    The 45th article of the constitution, (declaring field
officers of the militia ineligible as senators, delegates,
or members of the council,) repealed and abolished,
    All able bodied white male citizens between 18 and
45 years of age, residents in this state, (except as therein
mentioned,) shall be subject to do militia duty under
this act,
    Persons excepted:  The vice-president of the United
States; the officers judicial and executive of the government
of the United States; members of both houses
of congress and their officers; custom house officers
with their clerks; port officers; stage drivers conveying
the mail; all inspectors of exports; all pilots; all
mariners actually employed in the sea service of any
citizen or merchant within the United States; ministers
of the gospel,
    Persons exempt from militia duty but subject to stand
their draught, &c. members of the council and their
clerk; the chancellor, judges and clerks of the county
courts; judges and clerk of the court of oyer and terminer
and gaol delivery of Baltimore county; registers
of wills; register in chancery; registers of the land office;
clerks of the court of appeals; members of the
legislature and their clerks, whilst in session; professors
and masters of all colleges and public schools;
school masters; practising physicians; all mariners actually
engaged in the coasting trade from one state to
