            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    The Manufacturing Company of the Eastern Shore
established in Talbot county,
    The working tools of manufacturers actually and
constantly employed in their occupations, not to be valued
for the public assessment,
    Home made manufacturers in their hands not to be so
valued,
    The Washington Blanket and Woolen Manufactory
incorporated, &c. in Prince-George's county,
    The Caroline Manufacturing Company incorporated,
&c.
    The Franklin Manufacturing Company of Maryland
incorporated, &c.
    The Union Company of Snow Hill incorporated,
for erecting a Steam Mill and Manufacturing establishment,
    The Powhatan Manufacturing Company of Maryland
incorporated, &c. at Baltimore,
    The Western Run Manufacturing Company of Maryland
incorporated in Baltimore,
    A Steam and Manufacturing establishment incorporated
at Princess-Anne,
    The Somerset Manufacturing Company incorporated,
&c.
    The Patapsco Manufacturing Company incorporated,
&c.
    The Independent Manufacturing Company of Baltimore
incorporated, &c.
    The Warren Manufacturing Company incorporated
in Baltimore county,

    If any negro or mulatto female slave shall be declared
to be free after any given period, &c. by will, or deed
of manumission, the person making the same may determine
the state and condition of the issue born during
the time of service,
—If not so determined the condition of the issue to
be that of a slave,
    Former deeds under the act of 1796, ch. 67, declared
valid, though not evidenced by two witnesses,
    A copy of such deed of manumission to be evidence
as therein directed,

    Established in the city of Baltimore,
—The charter continued and extended tot he first of
January 1835, &c.  provided that the said bank is not
released from the terms and conditions prescribed by
the act of 1813, ch. 122,
    The Marine Insurance Company incorporated,

    The estates of deceased mariners residing in, or sailing
to or from Baltimore, vested in the Charitable Marine
Society of Baltimore, where by law they would
become the property of the free schools or the levy
court,

    Deceased—their estates, when vested in the Marine
Society of Baltimore,
    A mariner at sea may dispose of his moveables,
wages, and personal estate, as he might have done before
the passing of this ac, (containing provisions as to
nuncupative wills, &c.)
    All mariners actually employed in the sea service of
any citizen or merchant within the United States, exempted
from militia duty,
—All mariners actually engaged in the coasting
trade from one state to another, exempted in part
from militia duty,
