            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    The inspection regulated in the city of Baltimore,

    Poor lunatics, &c. residing in the different counties,
to be received in the hospital in the vicinity of Baltimore,
on the same terms, and at the same rates, that
the paupers from the city of Baltimore are,
—Provision for sending lunatics, idiots, &c. to the
said hospital, by the chancellor,
    Lunatic paupers may be removed by the levy courts
to the Maryland Hospital, on the certification of the
trustees of the poor,
—The money (not exceeding $100 per annum,) to
be levied on the counties,
    For other matters, see Idiots.

    Murder by, considered of the first degree,

    Of Prince-George's county—money to be levied for
her support,

    Of Anne-Arundel county—same,

    Powers vested  in the orphans court of Charles county
—trustees incorporated, &c.

    Of Saint Mary's county—money to be levied for 
her support,

    Punishment for burning.  See Arson.

    No part of the principal arising from a sale of infants
lands under this act to be applied towards maintenance,
unless the chancellor or the county court, as the case
may be, shall consider it necessary,

    Of Caroline county—money to be levied for his support,

    Every person convicted of wilfully and maliciously
stabbing, killing, or destroying any horse, &c. (not the
property of the person, nor trespassing on his enclosures,
to be confined in the penitentiary not less than
one nor more than four years,

    Established in Baltimore county,

    The county courts to exercise all the powers of the
late general court in cases of writs of mandamus,

    Punishment of slaves for, in Baltimore criminal
court,
    Every person convicted of manslaughter to be sentenced
to confinement in the penitentiary not more than 
ten years,
