INDEX TO THE LAWS.
Where any person is entitled by deed
or devise to a
life estate in an undivided part of the real estate of
any
deceased person, the same proceedings shall be had as
are directed with regard to tenancies by the curtesy
by
the act of 1809, ch. 160,
—On a remainder after such life estate the same
proceedings to be had as are directed as to tenants by
the curtesy. See Descents.
Where an infant is seized of a reversion
dependant
on an estate for life, the power of sale to be exercised
(as in other cases,) with the assent of the tenant for
life, the annual interest to be paid to such tenant,

Prosecutions and actions for any penalty
or damages,
or for seizures under the act to regulate the inspection
of tobacco, to be brought within one year,
Justices of the peace taking a greater
fee or reward
than is therein allowed, not liable to prosecution after
twelve months,
Fines under the act for erecting a
bridge over Chester
river not to be recovered unless within thirty days,
No writ of error or appeal shall be
prosecuted after
three years from the judgment or decree in the county
courts,
—Proviso as to former judgments, &c.
Suits against persons for any thing
done in pursuance
of the act for the valuation of property, &c. to
be brought within six months,
The time between the petitioning of
any debtor, and
the dismissal of the petition, not to be computed on
any
plea of limitation, so as to defeat any claim against
such
debtor,
Whenever land shall be taken up under
a common
or special warrant, or warrant of resurvey, any person
&c. may give in evidence his possession, and if it
shall
appear that the person, or those under whom he claims,
have held the lands in possession twenty years before
the action brought, such possession shall be a bar to
all right or claim derived from the state under any
patent issued upon such warrant,
—Not to affect any titles on warrants laid before the
passing of this act,
The exceptions or savings in favour
of persons beyond
seas, contained in the acts of 1715, ch. 23, and
1729, ch. 24, and ch. 25, for limitation of certain actions,
&c. repealed,
—Not to have any effect in any suit or action then
depending,
