INDEX TO THE LAWS.
the authority of this state, and not disposed of, made
liable to be taken up as vacant land,
A certificate of survey of land in
Allegany county
vacated, and the land revested in the state,
—Directed not to be taken up till the legislature
should make provision,
—The land made liable to be taken up in the same
manner as if the provision in the act of 1807, ch. 98,
had not existed, and that part of the act repealed,
—But warrants not to be granted therefor before the
1st day of June 1811,
—Until the 1st of January 1813, not more than 600
nor less than 100 acres to be taken up by any one person,
company, &c. by any species of warrant,
—Not to affect any right before acquired in the said
land,
Equitable estates in lands subjected
to sale under
writs of fieri facias,
Copies from any of the books, papers,
&c. in possession
of the register of the land office, (not matter of record,)
to be received in evidence when attested under
seal, to have the same effect as the originals,
Certificates of survey of land before
made in Washington
county, not compounded on, &c. and liable to
proclamation, vacated (after the 1st of October 1813,)
and placed on the same footing, with all other vacant
land in said county, without being bound by or paying
any regard to the aforementioned survey,
—But not liable on any warrant issued before the
first day of October 1813,
The registers of the land office directed
to make out
annually, between the first of March and first of May,
for the commissioners of the tax, a list of all the certificates
ready for patent, expressing the name of the
land, the quantity, and the person, and in case of resurvey
the name of the original tract, and the quantity
of vacancy added,
—Manner of transmitting such lists to the several
counties,
The register of the land office to
make at the same
time a list of all the lands disposed of in virtue of
the
act of November 1788, ch. 44, &c. not before returned,
and transmit it to the commissioners for Allegany
county,
—Allowance to the registers for their services under
the act of 1812, ch. 191,
The governor and council directed
to contract with
the register on each shore for making indexes of the
names of all the lands surveyed and patented since the
revolution,
—The indexes to be continued for future grants or
surveys—fees to be paid by the party making the survey
or obtaining the grant,
The register of the land office for
the western shore
directed to enter amongst the records the certificate
therein mentioned, purporting to be a survey of a tract
of land commonly called Lord Baltimore's Manor, on
the Great Glades, in Allegany county,
All real property which was liable
to confiscation,
and not sold, (except the reserves westward of Fort
Cumberland, and in Annapolis and Baltimore,) liable
to be taken up by warrant as vacant land,
—Where such land has been taken up by warrant
since the session of 1785, the same to be valid, &c.
—Not to affect the rights acquired by informers,
Whenever land shall be taken up under
a common
or special warrant, or warrant of resurvey, possession
may be given in evidence, &c. |
