The court of appeals to be composed
of the chief
judges of the several judicial districts,
The judges of the court of appeals,
and the judges
of the district court, before they act as such, to take
the oath therein prescribed, to be administered by any
judge, &c.
Form of the commission to the judges,
To be varied so as to designate the chief judge of
the court of appeals,
The county courts in each district
to be composed of
all the judges for such district,
Any one or more empowered to hold the court, &c.
No judge after having qualified as
such, shall act
as an attorney or solicitor in any court during the
time that he shall act as judge,

have all the power,
&c. had by any judge of the late general court, or

former court of appeals, or by any chief justice of a
district court,

court shall sit, to hear and determine on cases, where
the chancellor may be interested,

A judge of a district, &c. empowered
to take the
bond or recognizance of any coroner,
Permanent salaries established for
the chief judges of
the six judicial districts, and for the associate judges,
Not to receive any other or further compensation,

the court,) to decide, when the chancellor for the
time being may have been counsel, &c.
The chief judge to give his opinion in writing on
questions of law arising, when required by the chancellor,
On appeal in the case, to withdraw from the bench,
Prisoners to be brought on habeas corpus before
the proper judge, &c.
Any person committed, &c. may
in vacation complain
to the chancellor or any judge of the court of
appeals, or of the county courts, or the chief justice
of the criminal court for Baltimore, who may
award habeas corpus,
On refusal made liable to the action of the party
injured,
Judges, direction as to runaways,
The judicial officers, &c. of
the government of the
United States, exempted from militia duty in this state
The judges of the county courts, and
of Baltimore
criminal court, exempted in part from militia
duty,
Letters of attorney for acknowledging
deeds may be
proved before any one of the judges,
The judges, &c. on allowing a
certiorari to remove
proceedings under the act for the speedy recovery of
lands and tenements, or in cases of forcible entry, &c.
to require bond with security, and direct the penalty,
Judges to be appointed in the Baltimore
city court,
&c.
Any judge, &c. authorised, on
good cause of suspicion
of persons being engaged in a duel, to bring the
parties before him, and to require a recognizance to
keep the peace,
The judges of Baltimore county court
to refer applications
of insolvent debtors to the commissioners therein
appointed, and to act on their reports, |
