    An act for the encouragement of,

    See Insurrection.

    May be received by the register of wills, in the recess
of the orphans courts,

    Of Charles county—money to be levied for her support,

    Of Worcester county—same,

    Of Charles county—same,

    When two or more persons are jointly bound, and
one or more of the obligors die, his or their representatives
may be proceeded against as if bound severally
as well as jointly,

    Of Anne-Arundel county—money to be levied for her
support,

    And wife, of Dorchester county—same,

    And wife, of Dorchester county—same,

    Of Anne-Arundel county—same,

    Not to be charged or taken by justices,

    Of Montgomery county—money to be levied for her
support,

    The condition of such as  may be born of negro or
mulatto female slaves, during their servitude for years,
ascertained.  See Free Negroes.

    Directions for issuing commissions to judges thereafter,
—For their taking the oaths therein mentioned,
    Authority given to the chief justice, or either fo the
associates out of court, to direct the clerk to enter judgment
by confession or non sum informatus,
—Each of the judges out of court to have the same
power as those justices, &c.

    Acts respecting judges of elections,
    See Elections.

    There shall be appointed for each judicial district
three persons of integrity and sound legal knowledge,
residents of the state, one as chief judge, and
the other two as associate judges,
—They shall previous to and during their acting
as judges, reside in their respective districts,
—The chief judge, together with the associate
judges, shall compose the county courts,
—To hold their commissions during good behaviour,
removable for misbehaviour, on conviction
in a court of law, or by the governor upon
the address of the general assembly, provided that
two-thirds of all the members of each house concur
in such address.
—Their salaries not to be diminished during their
continuance in office,
