INDEX TO THE LAWS.
In certain cases a sale may be ordered
of the whole,
or more than may be necessary for the support of the
idiot or lunatic,
—The chancellor empowered to direct the application
of the money, and the funds in which it shall be
vested,
—Sales to be confirmed by the chancellor before
any conveyance, and bonds to be given by the trustee
empowered to sell,
—The sum remaining on the death of the lunatic,
shall belong to the person who would have been entitled
if the property had not been sold,
The chancellor empowered on the application
of any
trustee of a lunatic, idiot, &c. and receiving proof
that
it is necessary or proper to confine such lunatic, idiot,
&c. to direct him to be sent to the hospital near
the
city of Baltimore, if he can be there received, to remain
till further order,
—Empowered to send any lunatic, idiot, &c. to the
said hospital, who had before been sent to any hospital,
&c. in Philadelphia,
—The 7th section of the act of 1797, ch. 114, repealed,
Where any person, entitled to make
election of land
at the valuation, is an idiot, the person next entitled
may elect. See Descents.

of any felon, convict, or slave, wilfully, or the bringing
in by any person, by land or water, from any foreign
country, of any negro or mulatto, with intent to sell

nor more than 5 years,

or ballot, may be fined and imprisoned not exceeding
6 months, &c.
Persons convicted of the misdemeanors
therein mentioned;
as to public arms in the militia, subject to fine
and imprisonment not exceeding 60 days, |
