            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    Baltimore, incorporated,

    In the vicinity of Baltimore, a lottery authorised to
enlarge and improve it,
—Money appropriated to be paid annually for three
years for finishing the buildings,
—Poor, lunatics, and other afflicted persons, residing
in the different counties, to be received on the same
terms, and at the same rates, that the paupers from the
city of Baltimore are,
—Provision for sending lunatics, idiots, &c. to the
said hospital by the chancellor,
    The Maryland Hospital incorporated in Baltimore,
    Lunatic paupers may be removed by the levy courts
to the Maryland Hospital, on the certification of the
trustees of the poor,
—The money (not exceeding $100 per annum) to
be levied on the counties,

    Every person, his aiders, &c. convicted of breaking
a dwelling house in the day, or a store house, &c. in
the day or night, with intent to commit murder or felony
therein, to be sentenced to confinement in the
penitentiary, not less than two nor more than ten
years,
    Every person convicted of breaking into a shop, &c.
thought not continguous to or used with a dwelling house,
and stealing money, goods, &c. to the value of one dollar
or upwards, or as being accessary thereto, to restore
the thing taken, or pay the value, and to be sentenced
to confinement in the penitentiary not less than 2 nor
more than 12 years,
    Any person apprehended having on him any pick
lock, &c. with intent to break into any dwelling house
&c. or found in or about the same, with intent to steal,
to be deemed a rogue and vagabond, and on conviction
sentenced to confinement in the penitentiary not
less than 3 months nor more than 2 years,

    A lottery authorised for procuring a lot, &c. in Baltimore
for a house of industry,

    Punishment for burning.  See Arson.

    Of Anne-Arundel county—money to be levied for
her support,

    Of Prince-George's county—same,

    Of Charles county—same,

    In Montgomery county—to be surveyed, &c.

    Of Port Tobacco, incorporated,

                                                           I.

    Of Worcester county—money to be levied for her
support,

    The chancellor empowered, where there are trustees
under his authority for idiots or lunatics, to direct
the property, or so much as may be necessary for
the support of the idiot or lunatic, or for expenses incurred,
to be sold,
—To direct the terms, and appoint a trustee,
—The money to be applied to the discharge of such 
expenses,
