            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    Proof required of the disability, degree, &c.
—If of a permanent nature, the half pay to be for
life, but if temporary, to continue only so long as the
disability shall remain,
—The governor and council authorised to direct the
discontinuance of such pensions, if satisfied that the persons
are not entitled under a liberal construction of the act
—No sale, transfer or mortgage, of the pensions, or
any part, before they become due, to be valid,

    Of Montgomery county—money to be levied for his
support,

    In Anne-Arundel county, authority given to build a
wharf to the channel of Patapsco,
—The building of a bridge authorised,

    Of Worcester county—money to be levied for his
support,

    The judges of the fifth election district in Washington
county empowered to hold the elections in any
house in Hancock-town,
    Swine and geese prevented from going at large,

    Of Montgomery county—money to be levied for his
support,

    Crimes punishable by hanging,
 

   In case any offender on conviction may be sentenced
to suffer death, the court shall sentence him or her to
suffer death by hanging by the neck,

    Of the port of Baltimore, an additional compensation
allowed,

    The road from Belle-Air to Peach Bottom Ferry to
be established,
    The powers of the commissioners of the town of
Havre-de-Grace enlarged,
    A road to be laid out from the ford on the little falls
of Gunpowder river, to intersect the York road,
    Provision made to aid and amend defects in the records,
papers and proceedings, in the register of wills
office,
    A company incorporated to build a bridge over Winter's
Run, &c.
    Part of the public road from Belle-Air to Baltimore
to be straightened and amended,
    Money to be levied for the support of Ezekiel Donovan,
    The road from Belle-Air to Peach Bottom Ferry to
be reviewed,
    Harford county excepted from the 3d section of the
inspecting law concerning places for tobacco warehouses,
    Appropriation of the proceeds of a lottery in Havre-de-Grace,
—Regulation concerning lots to be held by foreigners
therein,
    A supplement, respecting a public road from Underhill's 
mill to intersect the road from Neale's to Coxe's,

    A road to be laid out from the Black House to intersect
the Pennsylvania line, &c.
