            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

    Every person, his aiders, &c. convicted of breaking
a dwelling house in the day time, with intent to commit
murder or felony therein, to be confined in the penitentiary
not less than 2 nor more than 10 years,
    Any person apprehended, having on him any picklock,
&c. with intent to break into any dwelling-house,
&c. to be sentenced on conviction to confinement in
the penitentiary not less than three months nor more
than two years,

    Of Prince-George's county—money to be levied for
his support,

    Punishment for cutting or biting off,
   Of Potomac River—a lottery authorised for improving
the navigation,

—Obstructions to be removed near the town of Bladensburgh,

    Of Montgomery county—money to be levied for her
support,

    The court of appeals shall sit on the western
and eastern shores at such times and places as the
future legislature shall direct,
    Appeals from the chancery court, or county courts,
and writs of error, to be made returnable to the court
of appeals, for the respective shores, and prosecuted
there,
    Books, records, &c. of the late general court, to be
lodged in the offices of the clerks of the court of appeals
on the respective shores,
—Deeds, and extracts of deeds, to be transmitted to
them and recorded, &c.

    The proclamation warning the persons chosen as
electors of the president and vice-president, to be inserted
in such newspapers on the western and eastern
shores, as the governor and council may direct,
    One of the senators of the United States to be always
an inhabitant of the eastern, and the other of the western
shore,
    The manufacturing company of the eastern shore of
Maryland incorporated,
    The court of appeals to be holden for the eastern
shore at Easton on the first Monday in June and last
Monday in November,
—Provision for extending the June sessions of the
court of appeals for the eastern shore,
    The public ground in Easton, with the court house,
&c. vested in the levy court of Talbot county, for the
accommodation of the court of appeals for the eastern
shore,

    A lottery authorised for purchasing a fire engine
and erecting pumps,
    A branch of the Farmers Bank established therein,
    Part of the act of 1790, ch. 14, repealed, and the money
received for licenses to retail spirituous liquors
therein to be paid to the treasurer,
    An addition to be made, and the powers of the commissioners
enlarged,
    A Charitable Society incorporated,
    The court of appeals for the eastern shore to be held
at Easton,
