            INDEX TO THE LAWS.

    A lottery authorised for building a church by the
vestry of Port Tobacco Parish,
    A road to be laid out as therein described to the Upper
Zachia Church,
    The trustees of the McDonough Charity School incorporated,
and certain powers vested in the orphans
court relating thereto,
    A board of agriculture established,
    Money to be levied for the support of John Garner,
—For the support of Dennis Connel,
    A road to be laid out through Wollaston Manor, to
the Cob Neck Church, to intersect the public road
from Port Tobacco,
    The levy court empowered to sell any part of the
public square in Port Tobacco,
    Money directed to be levied for building a  gaol,
    A lottery authorised for repairing the church in Durham
Parish,
    The old private road, beginning at the road from New
Port to Chaptico, till it intersects the divisional line
between Charles and Saint Mary's counties, and thence
to a road from Chaptico to Charlotte Hall, to be laid
out, &c.
    A company incorporated to open the navigation of
Zachia Run,
    A lottery authorised for erecting a fulling mill, and
a carding and spinning machinery,
    Money to be levied for the support of Mary Johnson,
    The commissioners under the act of 1811, ch. 55, authorised
to collect the money raised under the said act,
to be applied to the building of a court house,
—Additional money to be levied,
—The sum therein mentioned to be levied in three
annual assessments,
    Money to be levied for the support of Susannah Parker,
&c.
—For the support of Eleanor Montgomery,
—For the support of Teresa Thomas,
    A lottery authorised for raising money to aid in erecting
a church in Port Tobacco Parish,
    Allowance to the sheriff for keeping prisoners increased,
    Commissioners of the school fund appointed,
    Persons appointed to inspect and have transcribed
certain records of the surveyors,
    Each judge of the orphans court allowed four dollars
for every days attendance,
    Money to be levied for the support of Catharine Moran,
—For the support of Francis Adams,
    The Hydrant Company of Port Tobacco incorporated,
    Money to be levied for the support of Lydia Williams,
    The trustees of the Union School of Durham Parish
incorporated,
    Retailers, &c. not to sell liquor to any free negro or
mulatto or slave between sun-set and sun-rise, or on the
sabbath, or to suffer them to be about their houses, without
a written order, &c.
—The provisions of the act of 1817, ch. 227, declared
to be in force in Charles county, &c.
