BONDS

            INDEX TO THE LAWS.

survived him, to be allotted to her in the same manner
as distribution is made of the personal estate of intestates,
—Such offender shall on conviction, forfeit his claim
or title as tenant by the curtesy, and to any estate personal
or mixed in right of his first wife,
—If the offender be a woman, she shall, on conviction,
forfeit her claim to dower of the estate of her first
husband, and also her distributory share of his personal
estate, which she might otherwise be entitled to,

    Obligatory, of exchange, or credit—robbery or larceny
of, punishable as of goods and chattels,
—Punishment for receiving—knowing it to be stolen,
    Bill of exchange—punishment for forging, &c.

    Excepted from the prohibition of tables, &c. set up
for the purpose of gaming for money,
    Directions as to licenses in Baltimore,
    Excepted in the act concerning crimes and punishments,

    The form and penalty of bonds to be given by the
county clerks prescribed,
—Their fees not to be received till bond with security
is given,
—Manner of obtaining judgment and execution
thereon,
—Default of payment after such judgment, &c. to
be a misbehaviour in office, and may be prosecuted as
such,
    Bond to be given by constables, with security to
be approved by the levy courts,
—By inspectors of tobacco, and proved and recorded,
—By the treasurers—penalty and form prescribed,
    Bonds taken under the supplements to the act to direct
descents, to be a lien, &c.
    Bonds to be taken from state debtors,
—To be a lien as therein directed,
    Bonds of sheriffs and clerks liable to be put in suit
for money paid to them for fines, licenses, &c.
    Bond to be given by pilots, with security for the
faithful discharge of their duties,
    Power given to any two justices of the orphans court
to receive the sheriffs bonds within the time therein
mentioned,
—Such bonds to have the same effect as if taken by
the judges of the common law courts,
—General power given to them to take such bonds,
    The bond or recognizance of a coroner may be taken
by any judge of a district, or justice of the peace,
    The register in chancery authorised to determine on
writ of error bonds, until a chancellor should be appointed,
