or lenders shall in such case have all the rights and privileges in
enforcing the payment to them of the said assessments thus made,
that the levy court would have had if such transfer had not been

                                       CHAP. CXX.
A Supplement to an act* for the relief of the Poor of Kent County.

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the justices of the levy court of Kent county be and they are hereby
authorised, to assess and levy, annually, a sum of money not exceeding
fifteen cents in the hundred dollars on all the property in
the said county subject and liable to assessment, in addition to
what they are now authorised to levy, for the support and maintenance
of the poor of the said county, to be levied, collected and
applied, in the same manner as is directed by the original act to which
this is a supplement.

                                      CHAP. CXXI.
An Act for the further compensation of Jurors in Harford County.

Passed Feb. 5, 1819.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
each and every juror hereafter to be summoned on the regular pannel
of jurors to Harford county court, shall in addition to the per
diem
allowed him by law, be entitled to an allowance of three cents
for every mile that his place of resident shall be distant from the
place of holding the county court, to be allowed him in going to,
and returning from the court, and to be levied, collected and paid,
in the same manner and at the same time, with his per diem allowance;
Provided, that the said itinerant charges shall be allowed to
each of the said jurors only for once coming to and once returning
home from said court.

Proviso.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the sheriff
summoning such jurors, to note upon the list of the same, before he
returns it to the clerk of the county court, the distance each juror
summoned resides from the place of holding the county court, and
of the said clerk to return a copy of such list of jurors, with the
distance of their respective places of residence, to the levy court of
Harford county, to enable them to make the levy aforesaid.

    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
at the first ensuing meeting, and at their meetings thereafter to
lay the levy annually, the levy court of Baltimore county shall
nominate and appoint one sensible and discreet inhabitant, residing
in each election district of said county, to be a manager of the
poor of the district in which he shall reside; and at the first ensuing
meeting, and at their annual session every year thereafter, the
