CHAP. 116.

President to draw
on treasurer, &c.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

    5.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the president shall draw on the
treasurer of the western shore, from time to time, for such sums as
may be directed by the board of commissioners, and that the said
treasurer shall be authorised to pay to the order of the said president,
signed by him, and countersigned by the secretary of said
board, such sums as he may draw of the said fund, to be applied to
the education of the poor children of the county.

Repeal.     6.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That all such parts of the act to which
this is a supplement, which are inconsistent with this act, be and
are hereby repealed.

                                     CHAP. CXVII.
An Act to confirm the location of the Baltimore and Harford Turnpike
    Road made by the Commissioners at and near the Town of Belle-Air,

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the location of the road made by the commissioners appointed by
an act*, entitled, An act for making certain roads in Baltimore
and Harford counties, from or near a cherry tree standing in or
near Buckler Bond's old orchard, to the court-house in the town 
of Belle-Air, in Harford county, be and the same is hereby confirmed.

A Supplement to an act(a), entitled, An act for the better regulation of
                    Apprentices.

Time prescribed

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the time prescribed by the act to which this is a supplement, providing
for the recovery of compensation for the loss of service by
the absconding of apprentices, shall, from and after the passing of
this act, be extended to five years instead of three years, after the
time of service shall have expired.

                                      CHAP. CXIX.
An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Saint-Mary's County to borrow
    money for the erecting of a Gaol in Leonard Town.  Lib.
    TH. No. 6, fol. 332.
Authorised to borrow
not exceeding
$2000.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the levy court of Saint-Mary's county shall be, and they are hereby
empowered, to borrow, from time to time, such sum or sums of
money as they may conceive necessary, provided the same does
not exceed two thousand dollars, at an interest not exceeding six
per centum per annum, which said loan or loans shall be appropriated
and applied by them to the erecting of a gaol at Leonard-Town,
in Saint-Mary's county; and to ensure the re-payment of the said
sum or sums of money, with the interest thereon, the said levy
court shall be and they are hereby authorised, to assign and transfer
to the lender or lenders thereof, any part or parts of the money
authorised to be levied by the act passed at November session, seventeen
hundred and ninety-nine, chapter fifty-one, entitled, An act
to repair the public gaol in Saint-Mary's county, authorising the
levy court of said county to assess and levy on the assessable property
of said county, a sum not exceeding two thousand dollars,
