at December session, eighteen hundred and seventeen, to build
a bridge over the Patapsco Falls, at Ellicott's old upper mills, on
the old road leading from Baltimore to Frederick-town: And
whereas, they have by their memorial to this general assembly set
forth, that the sum directed to be levied by the said act on the assessable
property of Baltimore and Anne-Arundel counties, for the
purpose of building said bridge, is not sufficient; therefore, |

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Baltimore and Anne-Arundel counties,
be and they are hereby authorised and directed, at their next annual
levies, to levy upon the assessable property of said counties, a
further sum of fifteen hundred dollars, to be applied to the building of
the aforesaid bridge, one moiety of which sum shall be levied on
Baltimore county, and the other on Anne-Arundel county; which
said sum of money shall be paid to the aforesaid commissioners, in
the manner prescribed by the act of assembly to which this is a
supplement. |

An Act to enlarge the powers of the Trustees of the Poor in Worcester

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
it shall and may be lawful for the trustees of the poor in Worcester
county, and they are hereby authorised and empowered, in their
discretion, to keep any number of out-pensioners in said county
which they may deem will be for the advantage of said county, and
to allow each of such pensioners an annual pension not exceeding
twenty dollars, to be paid at such time or times, and in such manner
as said trustees may direct. |

An Act authorising the Levy Court of Queen Anne's County to levy
a
sum of money on the assessable property of said County,
for the

WHEREAS it has been made to appear to this general
assembly,
by the petition of the trustees of the poor of Queen-Anne's county,
that in consequence of the increased number of poor for several
years past, that the sums authorised to be annually levied have
been inadequate to their support, and that the trustees have incurred
debts to a large amount; |

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the levy court of Queen-Anne's county, or a majority of them, be
and they hereby authorised and empowered, at their next levy laying
court, to assess and levy, on the assessable property of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding twenty-five hundred dollars,
for the payment of the debt; now owed, to be applied by the trustees
to the payment thereof. |
