2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court aforesaid
be and it
is hereby authorised and empowered, to meet for the transaction of
public business at such places in said county, and on or at such
days and times as the said court shall consider expedient, between
the first day of March and the thirty-first day of December, in
each and every year hereafter, and may continue, by adjournment
or otherwise, from day to day, or time to time, until the public business
shall have been completed; Provided nevertheless, that the
levy for each year shall be completed within the year.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said court
be and it is hereby
authorised to complete the levy of said county, for the year eighteen
hundred seventeen; to appoint a collector (a), and finish all the
unsettled business of the county for that year, and to take bond or
bonds of the collector and other officers appointed; which said business,
bond or bonds, shall be and are hereby declared to be valid
and effectual to all intents and purposes whatsoever.

seven collectors are to be appointed, one for each
election district for the county; and as many for the city of Baltimore
as the levy

4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the president of
the said levy
court be and he is hereby authorised and empowered, to sign all
deeds or leases for property sold, or otherwise alienated, by the
court, and annex, or cause to be annexed thereto, the seal of the
said court. |

5. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the judges of Baltimore
city court
be and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to ascertain and
assess such of the public charges as arose in the late court of oyer
and terminer of Baltimore county, and were not assessed by that
court, and also to ascertain if any and what expenses have been
incurred by the sheriff of Baltimore county in supplying the necessary
fuel for the gaol, and which has not yet been ascertained
or assessed, and transmit the same to the levy court aforesaid,
which shall be levied, collected, and paid over to the persons entitled
to receive the same, as other county charges. |
