Acts repealed. |
LAWS OF MARYLAND.
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the said act of assembly be repealed, and that the authority and
powers therein given be annulled, and that the bond aforementioned
of the said managers, be henceforward inoperative and of
no effect, further than as it may regard transactions of the said
managers under their authority aforesaid, previous to this act of
repeal. |

CHAP. CI.
An Act to provide for the appointment of an Agent to settle the
claims
of this State with the Government of the United States.

| Agent to be appointed. |
1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the governor and council be, and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, to appoint an agent under their direction to liquidate
and settle with the general government the necessary expenditures
which have been incurred by this state in providing for the common
defence during the late war. |
Treasurer to receive
payment, &c. |
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the treasurer of
the western
shore be and he is hereby authorised, to receive payment of the
said debts in such securities, public stock, or current money, as
may be agreed upon by the said agent, under the direction of the
governor and council aforesaid. |

CHAP. CII.
An Act to extend the powers of the Levy Court of Washington County.

Additional allowance
to supervisors. |
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the levy court of Washington county are hereby authorised and
empowered, to allow to the supervisors of the public roads such
additional compensation for their services in superintending the
working of said roads, and for settling their accounts, as to said
levy court may seem reasonable and right; and said levy court
may also allow to labourers, to be hereafter employed by the supervisors
as aforesaid, any sum not exceeding one dollar per day, for
each day they may be employed in working on said roads.

CHAP. CIII.
A Supplement to the act*, entitled, An act for opening and extending
Saint-Paul's Street in the City and Precincts of Baltimore.

| Money to be collected. |
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the collector of taxes for the city of Baltimore be and he is hereby
authorised and required, to collect and pay over to the persons entitled,
all sums of money, principal and interest, remaining unpaid
after the first day of March next, which have been assessed as damages
under and in pursuance of the act, entitled, An act for
opening and extending Saint Paul's street in the city and precincts
of Baltimore, with the like authority to enforce the said collection
as is provided for the collection of the taxes of the said city, and
as a compensation for this service the said collector shall be entitled
to seven and a half per centum on the amount collected, to be
added to the sums assessed as aforesaid. |
