twenty days in addition to the time heretofore allowed by law for
printing the laws, votes and proceedings, after the same shall be
delivered to him by the clerk, any thing in any law to the contrary
notwithstanding. |

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the printer to
the state shall, within
fifteen days after the close of every annual session of the general
assembly, enter into bond to the state of Maryland, in the penalty
of twenty-four hundred dollars, with such security as shall be approved
by the treasurer of the western shore, which bond shall be
lodged with the said treasurer, conditioned that he will, as printer
to the state of Maryland, faithfully print the laws on paper of good
quality, and the votes and proceedings of the general assemblies
of Maryland, in the manner and in the time directed by law; and
if the said printer, in case he accepts thereof, shall refuse or neglect
to enter bond as aforesaid, such printer shall forfeit and pay
the sum of one hundred dollars current money for such refusal or
neglect, to be recovered and applied in the same manner as other
penalties, and shall moreover forfeit his salary as printer to the
state. |

4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That in case of the
death of the printer
appointed by this act, or his refusal or neglect to enter into the
bond required by this act, during the recess of the legislature, the
governor and council shall proceed to the appointment of some
other person to perform the duties required of the printer appointed
by this act. |

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the several incorporated banks in the state of Maryland which did
not comply with the requisition contained in the seventh section of
the act, entitled, A supplement to the act, entitled, An act for opening
a road leading to Cumberland, and for other purposes, passed
January eighteen hundred and fourteen, in the time specified in
the said section, be and are hereby declared absolved from the penalty
imposed, provided that the said banks have and shall hereafter
comply with the terms imposed by the said law. |

WHEREAS by an act of the legislature passed in January,
eighteen
hundred and ten, authority was given to raise a sum of money,
by lottery, for the purpose of cutting a canal from the head of
Blackwater river to the head of Parson's creek, in Dorchester
county, and the several persons named therein as managers have
bonded as usual for the performance of the trust therein mentioned;
and it being found impracticable to accomplish the objects contemplated,
therefore, |
