3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners
shall be
entitled to receive as a compensation for their services, in performing
the duties required by this act, the sum of two dollars per day,
to be levied, collected and paid, as other county charges in said
county are levied, collected and paid. |

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the
levy court of Washington county are hereby authorised and directed,
to levy on the assessable property of said county, the sum of
three hundred and eleven dollars and thirty-four cents and one half
cent, and when so levied and collected, the sheriff of said county shall
pay the amount to the order of John Francis Gardiner, of Charles
county, or his legal representatives. |

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for Jacob Appler, senior, Moses Shaw,
John Crabbs, Doctor William B. Hebbard, Doctor Thomas Boyer,
Nicholas Snyder, John Dagen, Jacob Shriver and John Shuee, or
a majority of them, to prepare a scheme or schemes of a lottery
for raising a sum of money, not exceeding five thousand dollars
clear of all expenses, and sell and dispose of the tickets in said lottery,
and to draw the same; provided that the said Jacob Appler,
senior, Moses Shaw, John Crabbs, Doctor William B. Hebbard,
Doctor Thomas Boyer, Nicholas Snyder, John Dagen, Jacob
Shriver and John Shuee, or a majority of them that undertake to
act under this law, shall, before the sale or disposal of any ticket
or tickets in said lottery, give their bond to the state of Maryland,
in the penalty of double the sum contemplated to be raised by this
act, conditioned that they will well and truly apply so much money
arising therefrom, within three months after the drawing of said |
