BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the levy court of Prince-George's county be and are hereby authorised,
so long as they shall see cause, to levy on the assessable property
of said county, a sum of money not exceeding one hundred
dollars, to be applied under the direction of said court, towards the
support and maintenance of the children of the late Thomas Littleford,
or to such of them as the said court may consider proper
objects to be supported out of the poor-house of said county. |

of Maryland, That
Samuel Sterett, Robert Gilmor, Nicholas Brice, Robert
Goodloe Harper, John Hoffman, Doctor Ashton Alexander, Richard
Caton, Jonathan Meredith, and Doctor John B. Davidge, or a
majority of them, be and they are hereby authorised to raise by
way of a lottery or lotteries a sum of money not exceeding thirty
thousand dollars, over and above all expenses and commissions allowed
on sales of tickets and in drawing said lottery or lotteries,
for the purpose of purchasing a convenient lot, and erecting thereon |
