An Act for the relief of Michael Walton, of the City of Baltimore.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the judges of Baltimore county court be and they are hereby authorised
and directed, to extend to Michael Walton, of the city of
Baltimore, the benefit of the act of assembly passed at November
session, eighteen hundred and five*, entitled, An act for the relief
of sundry insolvent debtors, and the several supplements thereto,
without requiring the said Michael Walton to produce the assent,
in writing, of two thirds of his creditors, as is prescribed by the
provisions of the said act and supplements; Provided, the said Michael
Walton shall produce to the said county court satisfactory
proof, that all property, effects and claims, to which he is entitled,
in possession, remainder or reversion, in Great Britain, France
and the West-Indies, or elsewhere, as well as in this state, so far
as he has in law or equity any power or control over the same,
has been duly assigned, transferred and conveyed, to such trustee
as the said court has appointed, or may appoint, for the benefit of
his creditors, and that he has executed and delivered to such trustee
all such deeds, letters of attorney, and other documents, as may
be necessary for the effectual conveyance and transfer of such property
and effects, and obtaining the delivery and possession thereof
to such trustee. |

WHEREAS it hath been represented to this general
assembly, by
the petition of a number of the commissioners appointed to receive
subscriptions for making a turnpike road from near Ellicott's lower
mills towards George-town, that they opened subscription
books, but that a sufficient number of shares could not be obtained
to authorise the organization of the company, owing to a restriction
in the law, that the said road was to be located so as to cross
Rock Creek, at not less than three miles above George-town; and
that difficulties have also arisen on account of the large number of
shares limited to be subscribed before the law could legally go
into operation; and therefore they prayed that a supplement to the
said law might pass authorising the president and managers, that
may be appointed, to locate the said road on such direction as may
be found most convenient, without paying any regard to the restriction
before mentioned, which appearing reasonable, |

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the president and managers who may
hereafter be chosen in conformity to the act to which this is a supplement,
and they are hereby aurhorised, to locate the said road
from near Ellicott's lower mills to the line of the district of Columbia, |
