paid out by them in constructing and repairing roads,
with the vouchers for the same; that each super-
visor shall be entitled to receive not exceeding two
dollars and fifty cents per day for each day he is
actually employed on the roads, and shall be wholly
exempt during his time of service from militia and
from service on juries.
Sue. 14. And be it enacted!, That all Acts incon-
sistent with this Act be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SEC. 15. And he it enacted, That tills Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 353.
AN" ACT to authorize the Elkton and Elk Valley
Railroad Company to charge a higher rate for
transportation and toll'-; of persons and freight than
is permitted by section thirteen, of chapter four
hundred and seventy-six, of the Acts of eighteen
hundred and seventy, codified as section two hun-
dred and thirty-four, of article twenty-six, of the
amended Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Corporations," sub-title "Railroads," under which
article said company is incorporated.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the. General Assembly of
Man/land, That the Elkton and Elk Valley Railroad;
Company may demand and receive for the transpor-
tation of persons, goods, produce, merchandise, or
property of any description on said railroad, charges
at rates not exceeding ten cents per ton of property,
or five cents per passenger for each and every mile
of transportation; but for any distance twenty-five
cents may be charged for a passenger or for any
quantity of freight.
