hereby authorized and empowered to construct any
lateral branches from the said railroad, or to extend
the main stem of the same to any point or points in
the counties of Worcester or Wicomico, and to ex-
tend the same to such point or points on S) Synepuxent
bay, in Worcester county aforesaid, as nay by them
be deemed expedient, and may possess and hold am
property, real or personal, necessary for the purposes
aforesaid, and to acquire the same by agreement or
by the condemnation of a jury, in the same manner
and upon the same terms and conditions as is pre-
scribed by the original Act to which this is supple-
mentary.
SEC. 3. And be if enacted. That the President and
Directors of the aforesaid railroad company, or a
majority of them, shall have full power and authority
to connect said railroad with any other railroad, now
existing or which may hereafter be constructed, with-
in the counties of Worcester or Wicomico, or touch-
ing their borders, and to make such contracts and
arrangements with other railroad companies, for the
through transportation of passengers and freight, as
may be agreed upon by the respective companies, or
their agents, and not inconsistent with the privileges
of the Wicomico and Pocomoke Railroad Company,
or the Laws of the State of Maryland.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the President and
Directors of said railroad company, or a majority of
them, may charge and collect for tire transportation
of all goods, produce, merchandise or property of
any description whatever, not exceeding six cents a
ton per mile, provided, for distances not exceeding
twelve miles, they nay charge and collect not exceed-
ing ten cents a ton per mile.
SEC. 5. And be, it enacted. That it shall be lawful
for the President and Directors of the aforesaid rail-
road company, or a majority of them, to regulate,
ascertain and fix, from time to time, the price or sum
to be charged or taken by the said company for re-
ceiving, weighing, delivering and storage of mer-
chandise, produce and oilier articles, and for the
transportation of any single bale, box or parcel of
merchandise, or other articles, not exceeding two
