corporation or corporations owning a railroad, or a rail-
road and other property, and may enter into any ar-
rangements with such company, with which the same
shall contract or consolidate, consistent with and calcu-
lated to promote the objects for which such companies.
were created, prodded, however, that no such aid
shall be furnished, and no such lease, purchase, sale,
consolidation or other arrangement shall be perfect-
ed until sanctioned by the holders of a majority of
the capital stock of said company present, in person
or by proxy, at a general or special meeting of the
stockholders of said company, convened in accord-
ance with the forms of the charter of the said com-
pany, and until sanctioned also by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted. That the said President
and Directors be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered, at any time hereafter, to issue such
amount of bonds as may be necessary to take up and
retire all bonds and obligations of the company then
outstanding, and also to complete its railroads and
other works authorized by its charter, and any
amendments or supplements thereto, and may exe-
cute and deliver all such mortgages upon its railway
and other property and net revenues, and accept re-
leases of existing mortgages, and from time to time
make such changes in all mortgages executed, or
hereafter to be executed, by it as may be necessary
or convenient.
SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act contained shall be construed as in any manner
destroying or interfering with any condemnations
heretofore made by said company, for its road be-
tween Baltimore city and Owings' Mills, under the
powers heretofore possessed by it, nor shall anything
in this Act be so construed as to release the company
from its obligations to build and run its road to Wil-
liamsport in Washington county.
SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That nothing contained
in the charter of said company, relating to the remo-
val of directors by the stockholders, shall relate to
the directors on the part of the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore.
