ments, and to execute one or more mortgages on
such branch to secure such bonds, and the net reve-
nue derived from the said branch shall be applied
to the payment of interest and principal on any
bonds issued for such purpose, and if stock be issued
then, after payment of such bonds and interest, to the
payment exclusively of dividends on such stock.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted. That the said com-
pany is hereby authorized and empowered to execute
all such other and further mortgages as may be
necessary in order to enable it to avail itself of any
assistance extended, or to be extended, to it by the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and generally
to do any other acts which may be necessary to ac-
commodate itself to the legislation of the said Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, in respect to aid to
be rendered to it, including hereunder the issue of
all further bonds or other evidences of indebtedness
which may become necessary.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the time heretofore
limited for the completion of the main portion of the
said railroad be and the same is hereby extended
until the first day of March, eighteen hundred and
seventy-four, and the said branch to the grounds of
the Maryland Agricultural Society shall be com-
menced within the period of two years from the first
day of April next, and completed within the period
of one year thereafter, otherwise all the provisions
herein contained in regard to the same shall become
and he void.
SEC. 8. And he it enacted. That the said company
may at any time, by means of subscription to its
capital stock or otherwise, aid any other company in
the construction of its railroad, for the purpose of
forming a connection of said last mentioned road
with the road owned by said Western Maryland
Railroad Company, and said Western Maryland Rail-
road Company may lease or purchase any part or all
of any other railroad, constructed or owned by any
other company, or may lease or sell its road to any
other company, or make any other contract or agree-
ment, on such terms as may be agreed upon between
the contracting parties, or may consolidate with any
