harking and landing of passengers, and the ship-
ment, landing or storage of freight, merchandise,
&c., to and from steamboats, vessels and other
craft, over which said granaries, wharves and land-
ings the said Company shall have the entire and
exclusive control and management, and the right
to same, and to exact and receive rent, hire or toll
therefor, shall be vested in said Company, as in
the case of the bridge and draw aforesaid.

Fix site for
bridge.

Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
pany shall have full power and authority to ascer-
tain and fix upon the site for said bridge, and it
the site shall he in a place different from the place
where the present bridge or causeway crosses, and
it shall be necessary to build a new road, the said
Company shall have full power to agree with the
owners of the land through which the said road
passes, for so much land as may be necessary for
said new road, and for the construction of said
bridge, as well as so much land as may be neces-
sary for the establishment and building of the
granaries, wharves and landings aforesaid, and
for roads to reach the same, and for any
water rights required for the purpose afore-
said, and in case the said Company and the
owner or owners of said land shall not be

able to agree, or in case the owner or own-
ers as aforesaid shall be feme covert, under age,
non compos mentis or absent, on application to a
Justice of the Peace for Queen Anne's County, he
shall issue his warrant under his hand and seal,

Sheriff to sum-
mon jury

directed to the sheriff of said county, requiring
him to summon a jury of twenty disinterested and
competent men, inhabitants of Queen Anne's
County, to meet on the land or at the water to be
valued on a day that shall be named in said war-
rant, not less than ten nor more than thirty days
after issuing the same, and in case any of the said
jurors do not attend, the sheriff shall instantly
summon as jurors as many as may be necessary,
with those in attendance, to furnish a panel of
twenty jurors, and from them each party, his, her
or their guardian or trustee, and if either be not
present in person or by agent, guardian or trustee,
as the case may be, the sheriff shall strike off four
jurors for each of the absent parties, or for either
