Incorporation
extended.

eember Session, eighteen hundred and forty, chap-
ter one hundred and sixty-seven, and the several
supplements thereto, with the privileges and pow-
ers granted by said original Act and its several
supplements, be and they are hereby extended,
and shall continue in force for forty years beyond
the period to which they are limited by the twelfth
Section of the original Act; provided, however,
that the said Powhatan Steamboat Company shall
pay into the Treasury of the State of Maryland
on or before the first day of April, (1870) eighteen
hundred and seventy, the sum of two thousand
dollars in full of all arrearages of taxes, to Janu-
ary the first, eighteen hundred and seventy, oth-
erwise this Charter to be void and of none effect.

May amend
or repeal.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the State doth
hereby reserve to itself the right to amend or re-
peal this Charter at its pleasure.

CHAPTER 128.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Maryland
Central Railroad Company, passed January
Session, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven,
Chapter one hundred and twenty-one, so as to
extend the time for the commencement and
completion of the same, and to appoint corpora-
tors in the place of those who have died, re-
signed, or refused to act.

Repealed and
re-enacted.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section one and Section sev-
enteen of the Act entitled an Act to incorporate
the Maryland Central Railroad Company, passed
at January Session, eighteen hundred and sixty-
seven, Chapter one hundred and twenty-one, he
and they are hereby repealed, amended and re-
enacted, so as to. read respectively as follows;
Section one — Be it enacted by. the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Johns Hopkins, Wm. B.
Norris, Horatio D. Whitridge, William Sterling,
