CHAPTER 126.

AN ACT entitled "An Act to authorize the
the Faculty and Board of Trustees of the Wash-
ington University of Baltimore, to use the real
estate of said University, situated at the corner
of Calvert and Saratoga streets., in Baltimore
city, as a basis of credit to raise a sum of money
not exceeding ten thousand dollars, by creating
a ground rent thereon for the uses of said Uni-
versity.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Faculty of Washington
University, in connection and association with the
President of the Board of Trustees of said Uni-
versity, are hereby authorized and empowered to
use the real estate purchased by the Trustees for
hospital purposes, situated at the corner of Cal-
vert and Saratoga streets, in the city of Balti-
more, as a basis of credit for obtaining, by means
of additional ground rent, to be put upon said
property or otherwise, a sum of money not exceed-
ing ten thousand dollars, to be used by the Uni-
versity, with the concurrence and approval of the
President of the Board of Trustees aforesaid, in
enlarging the building now upon the premises, or
in erecting an additional building or buildings for
University and Hospital purposes upon said pre-
mises.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act
shall be in force from its passage.
