The following bills having passed both branches of the
General Assembly were this day presented to the Governor
for his approval.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 1, of Article 22, of
the Public Local Laws, relating to the Almshouse in Wor-
cester county, and to enact a substitute therefor.

A bin entitled an Act to direct the Comptroller to issue his
warrant to the Treasurer to pay George Colton & Son, the
sum of twenty-four hundred and ninety-five dollars and forty-
seven cents.

A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of January ses-
sion 1867, chapter 268, entitled an Act to incorporate the
Baltimore Warehouse Company.

A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of 1868, chapter
246, entitled an Act to aid in the establishment of a Hos-
pital in connection with the Washington University of Bal-
timore and to appropriate money for the same.

An Act to extend the charter of the Powhatan Steam
Boat Company.

And to amend the charter of the Maryland Central Rail-
road Company, passed January session 1867, chapter 121, so
as to extend the time for the commencement and completion
of the same, and to appoint corporators in the place of those
who have resigned or refused to act.

An act to amend an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the
Emmittsburg Railroad Company.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day, the President announced

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the inspec-
tion of all artificially manufactured or manipulated fertili-
zers imported or brought into or manufactured for sale in the
State of Maryland.

The question being upon the passage of the bill,
Mr. Stephenson asked for a suspension of the rules,
In order to enable him to offer anamendment.
On the question being put,
It was determined in the negative.
Mr. Stephenson moved to recommit said bill.
Mr. Stephenson withdrew his motion to recommit.

Said bill was then read the third time and lost for want of
a constitutional majority by yeas and nays, as follows :
