The next order of the day being,
A bill entitled an Act to provide for a Public Ferry at
Rehoboth, in Somerset county.
Said bill being upon a third reading,
Mr. Smith, of Worcester, (by unanimous consent,) submit-
ted the following amendments :
Sections, line 5, after the word "same," insert in one
newspaper, in each of the counties aforesaid, once in each
week of two successive weeks ; and,
Section 5, line 7, after the word "authorized," strike out
the words " and required," and insert the words " if in
their judgment they shall deem it expedient."
Section 6,
And be it enacted, that the Commissioners named in the
second section of this Act, shall establish such rates of toll to
be charged non-residents of the counties aforesaid, as they
may deem expedient, not to exceed that charged by the Po-
comoke Bridge Company.
Which were severally read and adopted.
The bill, as amended, was then read a third time, and
