running thence an easterly course to the North
Point road, thence on the bed of said road, which
said Company is hereby authorized to use, southerly
to the Monument House on the North Point road.

Capital stock.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said Company shall not exceed twenty thousand
dollars, in shares of ten dollars each.

Open books.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That books shall be
opened at the City of Baltimore, at such time and
place as the Commissioners hereinafter appointed
may deem advisable, for the purpose of receiving
subscriptions to the capital stock of said Company,
notice having been given as the said Commissioners
may deem expedient, of the time and place of open-
ing said books, and continue the same open from
time to time, so long and as often as they may find
necessary to complete such subscriptions, and that
John B. Emery, John Harris, Wm. T. Markland,
Charles Bausman, F. S. Coskery, John Murray, of

Commission-
ers.

Peter, and Atkin S. Ogle be, and they are hereby
appointed Commissioners to receive such subscrip-
tions of stock.

Organizing.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That when three hun-
dred shares of said stock shall have been subscribed,
the sard Commissioners shall give thirty days' no-
tice to the subscribers to meet at a time and place
to be fixed by said Commissioners for the purpose
of organizing said Company ; and the said sub-
scribers, at such meeting shall elect a President
and five Directors, to serve until the first Monday
in July, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, there-
after, and until their successors shall be elected
and qualified, and the stockholders shall annually
on the first Monday in July eighteen hundred and

have one vote for each share of stock standing in
the name of said stockholders on the books of the
Company, to be voted by the stockholder in per-
son, or by written proxy.

Title.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the stockholders
of said Company are hereby created a body politic
and corporate, by the name of the Baltimore and
North Point Turnpike Road Company, and by
that name shall have perpetual succession, and
