tion, construction and use to the same authority
and control as other tracks or branches of said
railroad now laid on the streets of said city ; pro-

vided, that all cars bringing tobacco to the city of
Baltimore on any line of railroad, connecting
through any streets of said city with the track of
the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, shall be allowed
the free use of the track authorized by this Act.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer
of the State, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay
to the said Company for laying said track a sum
not exceeding the sum of twenty-five hundred
dollars, to be paid on account and for the interest
of the Tobacco Fund, which sum or so much there-
of as may be necessary is hereby appropriated for
the purpose alone set forth.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 285.
AN ACT to authorize the Comptroller of the
Treasury to adjust and settle the claims of the
State Attornies in the several counties and City
of Baltimore, for certain fees due by the State.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Trea-
sury be and he is hereby authorized to adjust and
settle the claims of any of the State Attornies of
the several counties and the city of Baltimore, for
appearance fees in civil cases due them by the
State, and for all fees similarly due for services
rendered under the opinion of the Attorney Gen-
eral in the matter of cases removed from said
county for trial or otherwise, and to fix and deter-
mine the amount due to said State Attornies, re-
