A bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act entitled an
Act to incorporate the Queenstown and Harrington Railway
Company, chapter 354, passed March 22d, 1867,

Was read a first time, and referred to the Committee on
Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to the
Baltimore Manual Labor School,

Was read a first time, and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the St. Martin's Inlet
and Navigation Company,

Was read a first time, and referred to the Committee on
Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Prince George's
County Central Turnpike Company,

Was read a first time, and referred to the Committee on
Corporations.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 103 of chapter
183 entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Princess Anne,
in Somerset county, Maryland, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Mr. Snyder presented the petition of George W. Andrews
and others against incompetency in conducting the business
of druggists and apothecaries.

Which was referred to the Senators from Baltimore
city.

Mr. Henkle presented the petition of citizens of Anne
Arundel county in reference to the purchase of the bridge
over the Patapsco at Elk ridge landing.

Which was referred to the Committee on Internal Im-
provements.

Messrs. Malone and Welch asked and obtained leave of
absence for a few days.

On motion by Mr. Parker, of Calvert,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill granting pensions to Jasper T. Bowen, Sarah
Dawkins, Matthew Kershaw, and Margaret Mikenny, of
Calvert county,

On motion by Mr. Snyder,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore city to
introduce a bill to prevent incompetent persons from conduct-
