entitled an Act to incorporate the Kent County Rail Road
Company, chapter 148, passed at January session, 1856, and
to re-enact the same as amended.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Beck, from select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled an Act to authorize the Delaware Rail Road
Company to extend a branch railroad across the State line
into Kent county, Maryland.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Sudler, from select committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller and Trea-
surer, when ascertaining the amount of paid up subscrip-
tions of the capital stock of the Queen Anne's and. Kent Rail
Road Company, to estimate the bonds of Queen Anne's
county as cash at a specified rate per cent.

Which was read a first time.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal the 39th section of Arti-
cle 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled Montgo-
mery county, relating to the number of Justices of the Peace
and Constables, and re-enacting the same so as to read as
follows:

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Offutt submitted the following amendment:

At the end of sub-section 39 add the following : And one
of the Justices of the Peace and one of the Constables ap-
pointed for the 4th district shall be residents in the corpora-
tion limits of the town of Rockville, and who shall give
special diligence to preserve the peace of said town.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend Article 60 of the Code
of Public General Laws by adding thereto an additional sec-
tion relating to the marriages of people of color,

Was read a second time.

On motion of Mr. Legg,

The vote by which the bill was ordered to a third reading
was reconsidered and the bill made the order of the day for
Friday next, the 31st instant.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the cor-
porate authorities of Frederick, Maryland, to subscribe to the
capital stock of the Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Rail
Road a sum of money not exceeding: two hundred and fifty
