Which was read the first time, and referred to the com-
mittee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct the Commis-
sioners of Alleghany county to levy a sum of money to build
or assist in building a bridge across the North Branch of the
Potomac river at Westernport in said county;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on .Finance.

A bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 567 of article 4 of
the Code of Public Local Laws relating to the jail of Balti-
more city, and to re-enact a substitute therefor;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

And returned the following bills:

A bill entitled, an Act to make valid the acts and proceed-
ings of the Commissioners of the Town of Rockville, Mont-
gomery county;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled, an Act to revise and amend an Act enti-
tled, an Act to incorporate the Queen Anne's and Kent Coun-
ty Railroad Company, passed on the 8th day of March, 1856.

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and require the State
Treasurer on the warrant of the Comptroller to pay the Court
costs in the various suits instituted or pending in the courts
of this State and the Supreme Court of the United States, to
test the validity of the Registry Law ;

Endorsed, " passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment of costs
incurred before justices of the peace before appeal shall be
heard from their decisions ;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act for the relief of the securities on the
bond of John D. Nabb, former collector of the State taxes in
Talbot county ;

Endorsed, " passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 247, passed Jan-
uary session, 1864, entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to article 30 of the Code of Public General Laws relating
to crimes and punishments ;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to empower Atwood Blunt, of Balti-
more county, State of Maryland, to construct a railroad from
Wallersville Quarry to the Baltimore and Ohio railroad:
