Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend-
ment:"

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 11, be it enacted, that the said railway shall be at-
tached to their said quarries, and any owners thereof shall be
allowed to purchase the said railway at a fair valuation from
the said Blunt, when his right to the possession of said Quar-
ries shall cease; and be it further enacted that the said Blunt
and his associates shall keep in order and make all necessary
road crossings and ways to cross said railroad.

Mr. Macall submitted the'following the message ;

BY THE SENATE,

March 22, 1867.
Gentlemen of the House, of Delegates :

We herewith again send to your honorable body, for its ac-
tion the resolutions passed by the Senate on Saturday, the
16th inststant, providing for the purchase of an Executive
mansion, and which were returned to the Senate, as requested
by our message of the 18th instant.

Secretary.

Mr. Davis, of Washington, submitted the following as an
amendment:

Resolved, That upon the subject of purchasing a house and
premises for the purpose of an Executive mansion, the com-
mittee appointed for the purpose of selecting a site, be dis-
charged from the further consideration of the subject, it being
deemed inexpedient at this time to incur the expense of said
purchase ;

The question on the adoption of the amendment was deter-
mined in the negative by yeas and nays as follow :
