Mr. Henkle from the Committee on Internal Improvements
to which was referred the bill entitled, an Act to authorize
the Board of Public Works to vote the stock of the State in
the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company for President and
four Directors upon the nomination of the holders of prefer-
red bonds of said Company;
Reported it without amendment,
The bill was then read the second time.
Mr. Tome submitted the following amendment:
Amend by striking out "Section 7;"
Mr. Tome withdrew the amendment.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which was
referred the bill entitled, an Act to authorize the payment to
the Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company, and to the
Dorchester and Deleware Railroad Company, of the sum of
thirteen thousand dollars, applied to the Choptank and Mis-
pillian Railroad Company, by the Act of 1860, chapter 303,
according to the provisions of section three of said act;
Reported it without amendment.
Mr. Davis, of Caroline, submitted the following amend-
ment :
In section 1, line 27, after the word "county," strike out
the balance of the section and insert, "unless the said Dor-
chester and Delaware Railroad runs, "as laid down5 or in the
vicinity thereof, from Fredericksburg, Md. to Bridgeville,
Del, the six thousand five hundred dollars shall be null and
void, and revert back to the Choptank and Mispillian Rail-
road';"
