The question on the adoption of the amendment was deter-
mined in the negative by yeas and nays as follow :

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which was
referred the bill entitled, an Act appropriating a sum of mo-
ney to pay the claims of David Plummer and others;

Reported it without amendment.

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which was
referred the bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay Lognecker & Conner, M. Fields and others;

Reported it without amendment.

The bill was then read the second time.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivt red the follow-
ing bills :

A bill entitled, an Act making appropriations for the sup-
port of the Government for the year ending on the 1st day of
January, 1868;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

And returned the bill entitled, an Act for the protection of
the public against medical imposters, and for the suppression
of the crime of unlawful abortion;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays," with the proposed
amendments.

On motion by Mr. Tome,

The Senate refused to concur in the second amendment.
Mr. Henkle then submitted the following message :
