The President announced the order of the day, being the
bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Maryland Central
Railroad Company;

Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment:

Amend section 1, by inserting after the word "Forbes," in
line 5, the following names, viz: John H. Price, J. Craw-
ford Neilson, Herman Stump and Wm. B. Duvall;

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Stirling submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 1, line 5, amend by inserting before the words "and
their associates," the following : "John W. Davis, Jesse K.
Hines, Wm. H. Jillard and Joseph B. Downs;

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Stirling submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 2, line 4, strike out "twelve," and insert twenty-one;"

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment:

Amend section 6, by striking out all after the word "Air,"
in line 7, to .the word "near," in line 8, and insert the fol-
lowing words, viz: "thence by the most practicable route, to
or near Deer Creek, at Priest Ford Bridge, thence down said
creek to the Susquehanna river, crossing said river at or;"

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment:

Amend sec. 6, line 6, by inserting after the word "Balti-
more," the words, "east of the Susquehanna river;"

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Srephenson submitted the following amendment:

Amend section 6, line 10, by inserting after the word "Penn-
sylvania," in said line, the following words, viz: "or in Mary-
land, on the eastern side of the Susquehanna River ;"

Which was read and adopted.
