Mr. Clarke, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably, without amendment, the Senate bill en-
titled, an Act to refund a sum of money erroneously paid
into the Treasury by William D. Bowie, Jr., in the year 1866,
on account of storage of tobacco,
Also, the bill entitled, an Act appropriating the sum of
sixty-one dollars and nineteen cents to pay the costs recover-
able from the State of Maryland vs. John Hawley, surviving
obligor of John Twigg and others, and State of Maryland,
against Jonathan Hendrickson and others, said cases being
appealed from the Circuit Court of Allegany county,
Which were severally read a second time.
Mr. Knott, Chairman of the Committee on Internal Im-
provements, reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to re-
peal sections 1 and 2 of the Act passed January session,
1867, entitled, an Act to secure the completion of the Wico-
mico and Pocomoke Railroad, and re-enact the same, with
amendment.
Also, a bill entitled, an Act authorizing the Commission-
ers appointed under the Act of 1840, chapter 215, and its
several supplements, to invest certain money remaining in
their hands.
Mr. Neilson, from the Committee on Militia, reported fa-
vorably a bill entitled, an Act to compensate William E.
Wilson and Daniel Mason for services rendered the State as
Lieutenants in the 12th Maryland Volunteer Infantry.
Mr. Nicolai, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the
Trust Company of Maryland.
Also, a bill entitled, Act to incorporate the George's Creek
Valley Lodge No. 16 Independent Order of Good Templars.
Also, a bill entitled, an Act to repeal an Act, passed
March 20,1865, entitled, a further supplement to an Act to
incorporate companies to make several turnpike roads
through Baltimore county, and for other purposes.
Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Pennsyl-
vania and Potomac Railroad Company.
