Reported it without amendment.

The bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following :

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourn to-day, it stand ad-
journed to 12 o'clock to morrow.

Which was read.

Mr. Brodwater submitted the following amendment to the
order:

Ordered, That the Senate resolve itself in a committee of
the whole at eight o'clock this evening, to hear the advocates
of the Baltimere and Ohio Rail Road Company, and also the
advocates of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road Company;

Pending its consideration,

Mr. Tome moved that the Senate adjourn ;

On the question being put, it was

Determined in the affirmative.

The Senate adjourned until at 8 o'clock, P. M.

THURSDAY, February 14, 8 o'clock, P. M.

Mr. Billingslea submitted the following :

Ordered, That the proceedings of the Senate be suspended,
and a committee of three be appointed to wait on John W.
Garrett, Esq., President of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail
Road Company, to invite him to address this Body on the
subject of the Baltimore and Ohio and the Baltimore and Po-
tomac Rail Roads, so important to the interest of this State,
and that the party favoring the Baltimore and Potomac
Rail Road interest, be also invited to the same privilege,
either now or hereafter ;

The question upon the adoption of the order,

Was determined in the affirmative.

The President announced the following Senators as said
committee, Messrs. Billing-lea, Vickers and Frazier.

Mr. Kimmel submitted the following :
Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns, it adjourns to
meet to-morrow at 11 o'clock.
