On motion of Mr. Bowie,
The Senate adjourned until to-morrow at 12 o'clock, M.

TUESDAY, January 8th, 1867.

The Lieutenant Governor resumed the Chair.

Mr. Philpot, the Senator for Baltimore county, Mr. Trail,
the Senator for Frederick county, and Mr. Billingslea, the
Senator for Carroll county, appeared and took their seats.

The President laid before the Senate, a communication from
N. T. D. Browne, Principal of Charlotte Hall School;

Which was read.

Also, the following communication from the Hon. Jacob
Tome:

PARKERPOINT, January 5th, 1867.
My Dear Sir:

I was unavoidably detained from the Senate on Friday, and
may be nearly all next week, unless I can get relieved from
Court at Washington City, as a witness, which I will try
to do.

President of the Senate.

Mr. Stephenson presented the petition of J. P. Dallam and
other citizens of Harford county, for protection of wild Fowl
in Romney Creek, in said county;

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Stephenson, Kim-
