Code of Public Local Laws entitled, " Frederick county,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments;
Which was read the first time.
The hill entitled, an Act to amend the charter of the Charles
Street Avenue company was taken up for consideration on
its second reading;
Mr, Pilkington submitted the following amendment:
Amend by striking out section two.
Which was adopted.
Mr. King submitted the following amendment:
Strike out after the word. "power" in third line, "or dum-
my engines;"
Which was rejected.
Mr. Pilkington submitted the following amendment;
Amend. by striking out section four, and insert the follow-
ing in lieu thereof:
Sec. 3. And. be it enacted, Than on the completion of the
said railroad or any section thereof, it sheild and may be law-
ful for the said company to demand and receive for tolls and.
transportation of all goods, produce, merchandise, or property
of any kind whatsoever at the rate of not exceeding' five cents
a ton per mile, and for the transportation of' passengers not
exceeding three cents per mile for each passenger;
Which was adopted.
Mr. Pilkington submitted the following amendment;
After " within " in line four, strike out " four years " and
insert " two; "
Which was adopted.
The bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third roading.
The hill entitled, an Act to alter and change the name of
Rufus Henry Greenhawk, of Talbot county, to that of Rufus
Henry Love;
Which wag read the second time and. ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.
The hill entitled, an Act to incorporate the' Council of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Williamsport, in Washing-
ton county;
Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
