CHAPTER 315.
AN ACT to extend the privileges, enlarge the powers and
amend the charter of the Credit Men's Association of Bal-
timore City, a corporation duly incorporated under the
General Laws of the State of Maryland.

WHEREAS, The Credit Men's Association of Baltimore City
was duly incorporated on the 28th day of April, in the year
1898, under the provisions of the General Laws of the State
of Maryland relating to the creation and regulation of incor-
porated companies; and

WHEREAS, It is desired to extend the privileges and enlarge
the powers of the said corporation; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Credit Men's Association of Baltimore City, in
addition to the powers possessed by it under its certificate of
incorporation and under the General Laws of the State of
Maryland, shall have and possess the further powers, rights
and privileges particularly mentioned in this Act; and its
charter, as set forth in said certificate, shall be altered and
amended so as to conform to the terms and provisions of this
Act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
have perpetual succession.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the objects and purposes of
this corporation shall be to promote and combine the intelli-
gence and influence of its members for protection against
imposition, injustice and fraud; to investigate fraudulent fail-
ures in business in which its members are interested, and to
secure legal punishment of all persons connected therewith;
to agitate and effect changes in the collection and insolvency
laws of the various States to the end that uniformity of
statutes may be secured and protection to creditors against
existing abuses obtained; to agitate and secure the enactment
of bankruptcy laws by the Congress of the United States; to
bring about improvements, greater similarity and certainty in
business customs and usages; to establish closer ties of busi-
ness association, and to insure united action whenever and
wherever the interests of its members are concerned.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said corporation, under the
above name and style, shall be capable in law to sue and be
sued, to plead and be impleaded, and to answer and be
